For nearly one hundred years, our publication portfolio has provided the necessary agility and adaptability to address the issues facing the dental profession and to identify emerging threats and opportunities. The American College of Dentists publishes a variety of publications including our award-winning journal. The Journal of the American College of Dentists is a scholarly publication presenting proactive and informative perspectives on issues affecting the dental profession and society, together with enlightening features on areas such as leadership, ethics, governmental and private agencies, policy development, the American College of Dentists, and professional history. The Journal has been continuously published since 1934, and its first editor was Dr. William John Gies. For the past twenty-five years, Dr. David W. “Dave” Chambers has served with distinction as our editor-in-chief. The Journal is mailed to all Active and Honorary Fellows. The Journal of the American College of Dentists (ISSN 0002-7979) is published quarterly by the American College of Dentists, Inc., 839-J Quince Orchard Boulevard, Gaithersburg, MD 20878-1614. The Journal of the American College of Dentists is copyrighted by the American College of Dentists, Inc. in the year of publication.
It is the communication policy of the American College of Dentists to identify and place before the Fellows, the profession, and other parties of interest those issues that affect dentistry and oral health. The goal is to stimulate this community to remain informed, inquire actively, and participate in the formulation of public policy and leadership to advance the purposes and objectives of the College. The College is not a political organization and does not intentionally promote specific views at the expense of others.
