The College utilizes a variety of educational initiatives to fulfill its mission of advancing excellence, ethics, professionalism, and leadership in dentistry. Through strategic partnerships, we are able to offer a wide array of opportunities to oral health professionals.
Through the Dr. Cecelia Dows Scholarship, we grant a $15,000 scholarship for dentists, Fellows as well as non-Fellows, seeking an advanced degree in ethics. Our partnership with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry allows three Fellows seeking MBA-level leadership training to complete a three-year program at Northwestern University. Our newest initiative, a partnership with the American Dental Education Association, is offered to those Fellows interested in academic leadership.
Additionally, the College provides over 40 hours of online continuing education in ethics and professionalism at no charge to any oral health professional who cares to engage with the courses. Through a long-standing partnership with Indiana University School of Dentistry, 15 ethical dilemma videos have been produced and distributed at no charge. These resources, and many others, are available at www.dentalethics.org.

This is a three-year program in partnership with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Program participants must be Fellows of the College and should submit a CV, letter of interest, and two letters of reference to the Executive Office by February 1. Please contact Suzan Pitman for more information at [email protected].
One of our current cohort members, Dr. Julie Connolly, recently spoke of her time as part of the Institute:
“I am in my final year of the program. It has been an invaluable experience. I am extremely grateful for this opportunity. The professors themselves are all leaders in their fields, subject matter experts who teach with great enthusiasm and passion (even on the weekend!). The classes we have taken have related to all aspects of leadership and working with and motivating teams. I have learned so much. Also important to mention, my fellow participants have been amazing–they are engaged, motivated, and bring a variety of diverse experiences that have enriched my time at Kellogg. While I am excited to head to Kellogg for the final sessions, I am sad that this experience will come to a close.”
This program is designed for dental professionals in academia. For more information, please contact Suzan Pitman at [email protected].
