For over a century, the American College of Dentists has been a persistent voice for ethics and professionalism in oral healthcare. Long regarded as the “conscience of dentistry,” we continue to serve as a hub for a dynamic array of activities, including an online continuing education program focused on dental ethics and professionalism, reaching over 100,000 oral health professionals globally.
Founded in 1972, the ACD Foundation generously funds our continuing education and other initiatives including scholarships for advanced studies in ethics and leadership, ethics resource materials for more than 7,000 dental students annually, and sponsorship of activities that position ethics, leadership, and professionalism at the forefront of local dental groups and other national dental organizations.
We invite you to be part of this enduring legacy of service to the profession.
We realize our members and friends primarily give because they love the College, they believe in our mission, and they like what we’re doing. The collective effort to further our mission is notable in that it is both broad and deep—the College is able to continuously cast a wide net in multiple arenas through the dedication and ongoing support of its Fellows and Friends.
Contributions are cumulative, and the College tracks donations to honor contributors as their commitment to the ACD deepens through successive gifts. If you are interested in making a pledge, please contact Suzan Pitman at 301-977-3223 or [email protected].
The American College of Dentists Foundation is a nonprofit, charitable 501(c)3 public foundation supporting educational and programmatic efforts of the American College of Dentists and collaborating organizations. The Foundation was established in 1972 to raise tax-deductible support for educational, literary, and scientific initiatives to advance oral health and the dental profession. The majority of the funding for the Foundation is provided by annual donations from Fellows, their families and colleagues, and other friends of the College. For decades, Foundation funds have supported initiatives of the College, including thought-provoking speakers and educators at the Annual Meeting, online continuing education, educational materials for dental students, scholarships for advanced studies in ethics, and other impactful projects.
